In March 2020 call for application forms for screening was completed. By this time 11 companies decided to take part into the Project (more details about participant are available at http://tyreman.ru/bisparticipants)
Before the end of March 2020, when first safety measures against COVID-19 pandemic were taken, Tyreman Group arranged first Match & Meet meetings of the BIS project participants in order to support the development of industrial symbiotic chains in North-West Russia.
Thus Severnaya Krevetka representatives met their counterparts from School of Biotechnology and Cryogenic Systems of ITMO University. They discussed a potential extraction and processing of chitin harvested out of shrimp shells and using IT for automation some of the processes of the aquafarm.
Tosnensky Mixed Feed Factory team together with Münhell brewery representative discussed a possibility to test a use of malt processing secondary product in feed production. According to plan feed factory will get first samples as soon as COVD-19 restrictions would be removed. During a visit of Tosnensky Mixed Feed Factory representatives to Severnaya Krevetka production site there was a discussion about collaboration on production of import-substituting shrimp feed. First test samples of feed are under development.
Tyreman Group continues to screen other members of the Project. As a result, all the data collected would be available in a database of secondary products. It will allow Tyreman Group to arrange meetings of the Project members with potential partners.
