On September 28, 2020, an online meeting of partners of the Baltic Industrial Symbiosis project was held. At the meeting, the current results of the project period from January 2020 to June 2021 were announced and presented. During this time, the partners screened 70 companies (in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland and Russia), as well as organized more than 20 Match & Meet events in order to promote the establishment of industrial symbiotic chains.
At the event, Murat Mirata, assistant professor at Linkoping University, shared his impressions of the first test seminars held in mid-September 2020 as part of the development of an educational program on industrial symbiosis. Representatives of enterprises in Denmark and Sweden who participated in educational sessions showed a high interest in this topic. According to the results of the classes, the students shared their feedback, which will be taken into account by the researchers when forming the program in the future.
During the meeting, we spoke in detail about our results as well. During the period of the company's participation in the project (August 2020 - present), screening of 15 companies in the North-West region of the Russian Federation was carried out, as well as 7 local macthmaking events. Within the Living Lab activities, several zones (coworking, industrial, presentation and demonstration zones) were organized in the Leningrad Region, which allowed the Tyreman Group to create a place for popularizing and testing the ideas of industrial symbiosis. At the moment, the company is studying the possibility of the several potential industrial symbiotic chains.
At the webinar, the partners also discussed the next Peer to Peer meeting of partners, which will be organized in December 2020 by the Finnish technology center Digipolis and held online, and also approved the holding of the Third meeting of the Baltic Sea Industrial Symbiosis Council on November 25, 2020.
