On May 26, 2021, we presented the BIS at the conference "Sustainable and Green Transformations of Resource-Intensive Industries"

On May 26, 2021, a conference was held on the theme "Sustainable and green transformations of the resource intensive industry sectors." The event was organized by the Council of Baltic Sea States under the chairmanship of Lithuania (more information on the event is available by link)

At the event, representatives of Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Germany, Latvia and Russia shared their own experience in the formation of a sustainable economy in the framework of four thematic sessions of the conference:
1. The political drivers of green transformation as a possible key to economic recovery;
2. Business contribution: success stories and challenges. Examples of successful green practices of Neste, ÖKOTEC, Glencore, AUGA Group;
3. Financial support tools and investments for green projects;
4. The contribution of science - Prospects for the future.

The conference was attended by partners of the Baltic Industrial Symbiosis project. In particular, Per Møller, Senior Symbiosis Developer at Kalundborg Symbiosis, presented the experience of Kalundborg (Denmark) in the development of industrial symbiosis, as well as presented the Baltic Industrial Symbiosis project being implemented and the current results of the project. Alexander Belykh, manager of the Baltic Industrial Symbiosis project at Tyreman Group, spoke about organizations that are developing tools for financing green projects in Russia, and also shared information on the current activities of the St. Petersburg Cleantech Cluster for the Urban Environment to develop industrial symbiosis and crowdfunding platform for green projects.
