Swedish wood cluster Paper Province* (Svealand region, Sweden) declares What WOOD you do competition (What you are going to do with wood?).
They look forward to promising projects of forest resources using and bioeconomy. If your project can help forests to decrease a speed of climate changes of allows timber companies to lower their influence on the environment – it is time to get the world familiar with it!

Paper Province is a world leading cluster that unites companies of the industry, scientists, experts and innovative projects all around one resource – timber. Cluster members can test prototypes of their ideas in a LivingLab – the lab, offering all possible conditions for testing.

What opportunities are offered within What WOOD you do competition?

WIDE MEDIA COVERAGE:
Experts would investigate and rate your project. Finalists would get a PR support in Sweden and Russia.
ADJUSTMENT OF YOUR IDEA:
You will get a feedback, couching and support – for a successful presentation of your project.
UNIQUE CONTACT NETWORK:
You will get an opportunity to introduce your idea to the leading companies in the industry and to meet potential partners.
EXCELLENT PRIZE VALUE:
A winner would get 25 000 euros for realization of his/her project, places from second to fifth – 2 500 euros each.
ACCELERATION OF YOUR IDEA: Sting Bioeconomy business incubator will offer you needed space for your start-up implementation and development.

Bidding procedures

1.   Application forms are to be placed via a form on whatwoodyoudo.eu website in March 16th – May 17th, 2020.
2.   Experts of the industry shortlist 5 best applications and invite applicants for a 48 hours hackathon in Karsltad, Sweden. Transport and accommodation costs for the final event will be covered by Paper Province.
3.   During the hackathon 5 finalists adjust their projects with the help on mentors, practice their presentation skills and make contacts with industry leaders.
4.   By the hackathon results jury make a choice of a winner and its author wins 25 000 euros.
5.   A winner project follows an acceleration in Sting Bioeconomy business incubator.

Projects should meet the following requirements:
-      to contribute to the development of forest bioeconomy
-      to Contribute to increased sustainability and/or meet The Global Goals for Sustainable Development 2030
-      be unique
-      be scalable


Knowledge of English is not required for applying!
What bioeconomy is?

European commission determines bioeconomy as a production of renewable resources and processing of these resources and wastes into value-added products such as food, feed, bioproducts and bioenergy.

Global Bioeconomy Summit 2015 declared bioeconomy as a knowledge intensive industry, that uses biological resources, innovative biological processes for sustainable supply of goods and services in all economy sectors.
